Canada’s Dance Television Channel, bpm:tv continues to expand boundaries with their 2009-2010 program schedule. The network’s fall launch on September 7th will feature two of the channel’s perennial favourites returning with new looks, and a new show featuring indie artists will televise dance videos rarely ever seen on television. For television viewers who do not currently subscribe to bpm:tv, Canada’s First and Only Dance Channel, April gives them an opportunity to see the programming they’ve been missing. The network will be free for all viewers, including non-subscribers, on every cable or satellite system that currently carries the channel.
Canada’s First and Only Dance Channel – bpm:tv honours the 30th annual Black History Month, in February, by spotlighting artists of African origin from showbiz superstars to industry up-and-comers.
For television viewers who may assume that digital channel bpm:tv is exclusively a “music video jukebox”, pandering to a mass audience of beat-driven dance hit enthusiasts, Fall 2008 will reinforce the channel’s position as Canada’s foremost purveyor of worldwide dance culture. bpm:tv has announced the award-winning electronic music documentary Put the Needle on the Record will have its world broadcast premiere on its dance network Saturday, March 10th at 9 PM (ET). Filmed in Miami during the ultra-hot Winter Music Conference, this 80-minute documentary explores the evolution and growing global phenomena of both electronic music and its DJs in pop culture.
