Ratings: CFL Western Final is Most-Watched CFL Playoff Game Ever

The road to the 98th GREY CUP continues to deliver record television audiences. Overnight data from BBM Canada confirms the Western Final featuring Saskatchewan @ Calgary on Sunday afternoon had an average audience of 2.54 million viewers – making it the most-watched CFL playoff game ever recorded*. An average audience of 2.3 million viewers watched the game on TSN with an additional 233,000 watching in French on RDS.

Ratings: CTV’s Scotiabank GILLER PRIZE Celebrated by 2.64 Million

As Giller Prize winner Johanna Skibsrud’s The Sentimentalists hits bookstores this week, CTV announced today that more than 2.64 million unique viewers have watched CTV Inc.’s multiple presentations of the 2010 Scotiabank GILLER PRIZE. In addition to the televised broadcasts, the live stream of the star-studded gala on CTV.ca on Nov. 9 more than doubled its audiences compared to last year. CTV’s Giller Effect is expected to once again help to boost sales of Skibsrud’s novel, as experienced with last year’s winner, The Bishop’s Man, which saw sales jump 712% following CTV’s 2009 broadcast.

Production news: North American Adaptation Of U.K. Drama Series SKINS Currently In Production In Toronto, Canada

Entertainment One, Company Pictures and MTV, in association with Astral’s The Movie Network (Eastern Canada) and Corus Entertainment’s Movie Central (Western Canada), announced today that production is currently underway in Toronto on the North American adaptation of the U.K. drama series sensation Skins. The 10-part, one-hour drama series will debut in January 2011 on MTV in the U.S. and on The Movie Network and Movie Central in Canada.
