| Canadian Idol's results show moves to new time and expands to one hour |

(CNW) Next week promises to be even busier than normal for Canadian Idol:
- Tuesday's live results show expands to a new, one-hour format and moves to a new timeslot of 8 p.m. ET (tape-delayed in BC, AB and SK), beginning Aug. 26.
- An all-new, one-time-only special, The Best and Worst of Canadian Idol, premieres Thursday, Aug. 28 at 8 p.m. on CTV. The one-hour special includes the highs and lows of Canadian Idol's eight-city audition tour and features an all-new, production number starring some surprising guests.
- On Friday, Aug. 29 the four remaining Idols visit with Canadian diva Céline Dion on the set of her new Las Vegas production, A New Day.
- Canadian Idol's first CD, "Canadian Idol Greatest Moments," will be released by BMG Canada Inc. / ViK.recordings on Tuesday, Aug. 26.

| Deal With MTV Networks International brings Ashton Kutcher’s Punk’d to CTV |

CTV has inked another deal to bring the next MTV hit to mainstream Canada. CTV President of Programming Susanne Boyce today confirmed an agreement with MTV Networks International for the Canadian conventional broadcast rights to hit series Punk’d, hosted by Ashton Kutcher. The hidden-camera series with a twist is the latest addition to CTV’s top-ranked lineup. Punk’d will air Mondays at 8 p.m. ET, beginning September 29 (check local listings) on CTV.

| TSN and Discovery Channel Canada Begin HDTV Broadcasting on Aug. 15 |

TSN and Discovery Channel Canada will become the first two Canadian specialty channels to broadcast their signals in high definition television (HDTV) on Friday, August 15. Bell ExpressVu HD subscribers can catch TSN in high definition on Bell ExpressVu channel 675, beginning August 15 with Wendy’s Friday Night Football (CFL -- Montréal @ Hamilton) at 7:30 p.m. ET. Discovery Channel will embark on its high definition journey with Catching a Killer – The Mystery of Sable Island on Bell ExpressVu channel 670, beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
