| Production news: EONE's THE FIRM Casts Juliette Lewis and Callum Keith Rennie |

Entertainment One (eOne), Sony Pictures Television Networks, NBC and Global are proud to announce that Juliette Lewis (“Natural Born Killers,” “Cape Fear”) and Callum Keith Rennie (“The Killing,” “Californication”) are signed on to star in the new legal drama series “The Firm,” based on John Grisham’s best-selling novel and executive-produced by Grisham and Lukas Reiter. Lewis and Rennie join Josh Lucas (“The Lincoln Lawyer,” “Sweet Home Alabama”) who was previously announced to star as attorney Mitchell McDeere (the role originated by Tom Cruise in the film). David Straiton (“House,” “Fringe”) is confirmed to direct the pilot episode which will commence production in Toronto this August. Helen Shaver (Judging Amy, Law & Order: SVU) has also joined the series as a Producer and will direct multiple episodes.

Muse Entertainment has begun production in Montreal of the second season of the hit sci-fi series Being Human. The 13-episode series is about three paranormal roommates and stars Sam Witwer (Smallville, CSI), Meaghan Rath (Prom Wars, 18 to Life) and Sam Huntington (Fanboys, Superman Returns. Dichen Lachman (Doll House, Torchwood) joins the cast this season playing a reclusive, centuries-old, vampire royal.

Just in time for Summer, the smash-hit MTV original production, 1 GIRL 5 GAYS goes live for the first time ever -- and fans are invited to join in. Hosted by MTV’s Aliya-Jasmine Sovani, 1 GIRL 5 GAYS 500 FANS is a live, half-hour special featuring the entire cast of 1G5G together for the first time on the same stage at the legendary Masonic Temple in Toronto. In another first, fans are put in the drivers’ seat and given the opportunity to pose questions to the guys live on air. It’s a guaranteed not-to-miss episode when 1 GIRL 5 GAYS 500 FANS premieres Thursday, June 30 at 11 p.m. ET/PT on MTV in Canada and Logo in the U.S. The show continues online at mtv.ca after the television broadcast ends.

| Production news: Production set to begin on Season 2 of CBC’s spy comedy InSecurity |

Vérité Films and Company Name Here Productions in association with CBC announced today that production on Season 2 of the comedy series InSecurity <http://cbc.ca/insecurity> will begin July 4, 2011. Set in Ottawa, the Nation’s Capital, at the fictional National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), Season 2 of InSecurity follows secret agent Alex Cranston (played by series star Natalie Lisinska, Young People F**King, Chloe) and her team of spies who make keeping the nation safe look easy and getting a life look hard; after all, spies are people too. InSecurity will premiere on CBC as part of the 2011 fall prime-time lineup, airing Monday nights at 8:30 pm (9 p.m. NT) right after the BATTLE OF THE BLADES RESULTS SHOW. The 10-episode half-hour series is shot in Regina, Saskatchewan, with second camera photography shot in Ottawa, Ontario. Production wraps August 30, 2011.

Bell Media announced today that it has begun early development on three unique projects, based on the work of some of Canada’s most respected and best-selling authors. Bell Media has optioned the television rights on two novel series, one written by William Deverell and the other, Giles Blunt, two of Canada’s foremost award-winning mystery writers. In addition, Bell Media and Shaftesbury are in development on an adaptation of Old City Hall, written by acclaimed criminal lawyer-turned-author, Robert Rotenberg.

| Production news: Family Channel and Disney Junior Canada Commission New Episodes of Four Canadian Original Productions |

Astral's Family Channel and Disney Junior today announced they have ordered new episodes of four Canadian original productions for the 2011/2012 season. Family Channel has ordered second seasons of the live-action comedies Really Me and What's Up, Warthogs!, from Fresh TV and Dolphin Entertainment/Aircraft Productions respectively, as well as a third season of Temple Street Productions' Wingin'It. Disney Junior has commissioned a second season of the new animated series Justin Time from Guru Studio, for both the English and French language Disney Junior networks. All four series will begin production in Toronto later this summer.
