The Main II(26x30min)
World Broadcast Premiere
Weekdays at 7pm ET beginning September 29
Anthony Sedlak is back with a new season of the stylish, mouth watering Canadian original series The Main. In each episode Anthony selects one main ingredient around which he bases his recipes. With feature ingredients ranging from lobster and prosciutto to goat cheese, cider vinegar and figs, Anthony’s passion for cooking and knowledge of food inspires the cook in us all. A perfect pairing to accompany the new season of The Main is Anthony’s first cook book, “The Main: Recipes.” Available as of November 2008, in this sleek and modern book Anthony shows how to create his signature mouthwatering dishes and enjoy them at home, time and again.
The F Word (9x60min)
North American Broadcast Premiere
Tuesdays at 9pm ET/10pm PT beginning September 30
Hosted by the legendary chef Gordon Ramsay, The F Word combines mischievous stunts and recipe-based challenges set in the fast paced world of a bustling downtown eatery. In each episode, a new team of cooks line up to experience the white heat of Ramsay's presence as they face the awesome challenge of cooking and serving a three-course dinner for a restaurant full of diners. If they don't cut the mustard it's Ramsay's reputation on the line, especially as they're cooking for customers who will only pay if they think the food's worth it.
Everyday Exotic (26x30min)
World Broadcast Premiere
Thursdays at 12:30 pm ET and 5:30 pm ET beginning October 2
In each episode of this Canadian original series, Roger Mooking, host and avatar to the world of exotic foods, focuses on one distinct ingredient or spice and builds a menu to lift the everyday to the exotic. Roger uses classic dishes, and then adds the spice and introduces ingredients that at first glance may appear exotic, but with a little bit of knowledge will soon too become everyday. Roger demystifies the myths around the spices and ingredients we fear to use. Armed with knowledge and inspired by demonstration and example, viewers will be empowered to embrace the world of exotic flavours and will easily add them to their everyday midweek cooking.
Chef Abroad (13x30min)
World Broadcast Premiere
Thursdays at 9pm ET/10pm PT beginning October 2
Come along with chef and host Michael Smith on his latest culinary adventure, Chef Abroad, as he circumnavigates the globe going behind the scenes with an all-access backstage pass into the fast-paced hidden world of chefs and cuisine that most people only dream about. “There are great passionate people out there doing amazing culinary things in extraordinary places,” says Chef Michael Smith. “I’m on a mission to find them. It’s the best job in the world!” Whether it is documenting the tension of pulling off a dinner for the Prince of Jordan or chronicling how chefs and cooks prepare delectable meals in the frozen Arctic, Chef Abroad reveals new food frontiers from all around the world.
Jamie’s Kitchen Australia (10x60min)
North American Broadcast Premiere
Thursdays at 10pm ET/11pm PT beginning October 2
Join Jamie Oliver and his good mate Tobie Puttock as they open the first Fifteen restaurant in Australia. To prove their conviction that it’s a passion for food not academic qualifications that makes a good cook, they’re training a group of 16 to 24-year-old disadvantaged Australians to work as chefs in the kitchen of the new Melbourne restaurant. Come behind the scenes as we follow their journey, capturing the drama and culminating in the opening of Fifteen Melbourne.
The Wild Chef (7x30min)
World Broadcast Premiere
Fridays at 9:30pm ET beginning October 3
The Wild Chef is a Canadian original road series which explores Québécois cuisine and features the colourful and larger-than-life, world renowned Chef Martin Picard, Chef-Owner of top Montréal restaurant “Au Pied de Cochon.” He and his sous-chef Hugue Dufour take viewers on a journey across Québéc to create typical dishes with a whole new perspective. In each episode, Martin and his sidekick Hugue travel across Québéc (and in one episode, the Maritimes) and embark on adventures where typical Québéc recipes are on the menu, but revisited by the chefs. Carrying an old stove in their pick-up, the two friends enjoy cooking outside, away from the restaurant. They take to the road to return to the very source of the fresh products they use. These two chefs use whatever they can find – including wild animals to spice up the recipes.
